Jax and Hot Wheels

Jaxon got a Hot Wheels themed Easter basket this year. He is obsessed with cars which he learned to play with at his Papa David's house. Joe and him love to play with the cars. I am not sure who gets more more excited about the Hot Wheels. Joe gets frustrated though because Jaxon likes to hit the "GO" before Joe has all the cars set up for the chain reaction. I have to remind Joe that technically they are Jaxon's toys. I am attaching a video of them playing. Take notice in the video, Jaxon continuously refers to himself in the third person. It is always, "Jax do it" or "Jax hungry" or "Jax help". He hasn't quite got the hang of pronouns yet. You also see that he is still calling Joe by his first name. We are making some progress though. After calling him Joe if you ask Jaxon what is his name he will say Dada. However though, he then turns around and says Joe again. Maybe someday.

Happy Easter

Easter was spent hunting for eggs with family and playing with all of Jaxon's cousins. Jaxon managed to bring home about $15 in all the Easter egg hunts. He also scored a bunch of jelly beans which he used to demonstrate his large mouth (he gets it from his mom's family) when he stuck about 8 in it at one time.

Jaxon with Meagan, Nana, Carter, Taylor, Abbie, Payton and Papa Sweet.
Hunting eggs with Daddy. He seemed to do much better than he had at the Bakers.

Jaxon had tons of fun playing with his cousin Payton. They played play dough and had races with their lawn mower and vacuum.

The Baker's Easter Egg Hunt

Today we went to the Baker's house for their annual Easter egg hunt. Jaxon had a great time hanging out with Maddie, baby Gracie, Michael, Brandon, Max, Aden, Ty, Marcus, and Maddox who had ran off before the picture was taken. While we were there the kids hunted for tons of eggs. Most of the kids made off with a whole bucket full but not Jaxon. Jaxon managed to snag a sad six eggs. After picking up his first egg he headed for the rackets on the ground and just wanted to use the rackets to hit the egg.

By the time he actually caught on and started hunting, the pickings were slim and not many were left. Afterwards we talked about Jaxon's lack of focus and I am happy to say that by the time that actual Easter rolled around Jaxon's ability had improved. Everyone better watch out next year, Jax is going to make up for his poor performance then.

After the hunt everyone enjoyed some great sandwiches and Jaxon's favorite treat, Capri Sun.

The day was wrapped up with some playing. Jaxon loved the train table and spent most of his time. All in all it was another great year. We look forward to next Easter.

Girl's Weekend Getaway

The girls and I headed down south this weekend to get some girls time away. We went and saw the play "Wicked", had some great food and drinks (unfortuantly non-alcholic for Jenny and I), and did tons of shopping the next day. It was great to get away. Joe and Jax bonded. I really don't even think that they missed me that much. Jax and Joe partied it up at Ben's to celebrate the time change. One may be asking why would you want to celebrate the time change, it's a mountain biking thing. Then on Sunday they played at the park which is Jaxon's ultimate favorite. All in all they had a great weekend and survived. I never doubted it though. Joe is the best dad.
