Birthday Safari for Ty

Today we went to Ty Stovall's Jungle Safari themed 1st birthday party. His mommy is very creative and had all kinds of fun planned for the kids. Jaxon had a blast looking for animals with his binoculars, playing in the ball pit with Gracie and eating cupcakes. It was a great time. Jaxon hopes his next birthday party will be as much fun. Maybe Ty's mommy can plan it.

The Faux Hawk

Jaxon and Joe love playing around when he gives him a bath. After seeing this I realized that daddy was wrong, Jaxon needed a haircut. He couldn't pull off the sloppy long bed head hair and the faux hawk was a little bit crazy.

Hot! Hot! Hot!

103 degrees on May 17th. What the hell???? The pool is still pretty cold but we decided to give it a go in order to get over the heat. Jaxon loves the pool. He doesn't seem bothered at all by the cold water. I think he is really going to love swim lessons this year.

Jaxon Loves to Clean

For anyone who knows us, Joe and I are not the neatest people. Cleaning is not high on our priority list. I don't what happened but Jaxon is obsessed with cleaning. We kid around and say he spent to much time with Grammie Janice when he was little and picked up her obsessive compulsive disorder. To give you some examples of his OCD in full force he always wants to pick up the dog poop. Half the time Athena hasn't even finished going yet. He loves to have the duster and dust. He even has to have a ladder to reach the high spots just like his Grammie. When you vacuum he has to have his little dirt devil right there with you vacuuming along. I just hope this behavior continues on when he is older. Maybe I will get that live in cleaning service I always dreamed about.

Jaxon's Words of Wisdom

So I am following the example of my friend Julie and am going to start posting some of the funny things Jaxon says. Well, at least they seem funny to us. This way I can use it as a way for me to remember some of them in the future.

5/3/08 - Jaxon and Joe are camping. Joe is peeing on a tree. Jaxon has to be just like Joe so he wants to pee also or as he would probably say "Jax pee too." Joe takes off his shorts and diapers and gives him his first experience of outdoor peeing. When he fails to go, Jaxon's response is "pee-pee broken". Now whenever he tries and can't go (which is often since he isn't potty trained yet) he informs us that his pee-pee is broken.

Camping with Dad

Jaxon went on his first overnight tent camping trip with Joe. They joined Roger and Jaxon's buddy Carter for a trip to Alder Creek. They enjoyed roasting marshmallows, pretend fishing (no hook so it was just practice casting), chasing grasshoppers and skipping rocks in the creek. I was a little worried about Jaxon sleeping since he has never slept in anything other than his crib, but Joe said that he did great. I think he liked the fact that Joe was so close to him. Especially since he kept saying "Hi Joe!" All in all it was a fun time which Joe looks forward to repeating this summer.

Hanging out with daddy and Carter while they played cars.

Playing in the creeks is always one of Jaxon's favorite things to do.

Jaxon and Carter are buddies! They had a great time camping with the dads.

Rummaging through the bag to see what all mom stuffed in this thing for me. Did she really think I needed that many clothes for one night?
