Introducing Miss Jaya Elaine

Jaya Elaine Sweet was born by C-section on June 20th at 2:28pm. She weighed in at 7 pounds and 14 ounces and was 19 inches long. Everything went well and she is a great baby so far. Joe and I don't know if she is really that good or if we just know what we are doing a little better this time. Eihher way we will take it. Jaxon doesn't seem to mind her. Other than asking where she is and telling me that she cries, he doesn't have much of an interest yet. However though, he does seem to get a little more interested each day. In my opinion her features look like Jaxons did but her hair, eyes, and skin coloring are much darker. Joe said all along that she would be more like me. I think he was right.

To be continued...

Jaya's room is all complete and now we just need for her to be here. Just wanted to let everyone know that we are scheduled to have a C-section on Friday at 12:30. We will keep you updated and post pictures soon.

Swim Lessons

Jaxon finished up 2 weeks worth of swim lessons today. There were a few days when the pool wasn't very warm and he didn't really want to have his lesson, but overall he had a blast. He has acquired a bunch of new skills. He will put his face in the water, eyes and all, and do his bubblers, hold his breath under water, and use his big paddlers and kickers. It is a start and we hope that after lessons next year he will be like a little fish.

Jaxon with Jennifer his awesome swim teacher. He loved that she supplied him daily with suckers. I think that is what kept him going.

Hangin' with Payton

Jaxon's cousin Payton is in town from San Diego with Aunt Janice for the week. They are here to visit and have a sleep over with Jaxon when we go to the hospital to have Jaya. Jaxon loves hanging out with Payton and has been so excited to go swimming and hang out outside with her. Jaxon feels like he has to get in every minute since we won't be making our annual trip to San D this summer.

Big Boy Bed

Jaxon slept in his big boy bed for the first time on May 23rd. That day his Grandma Toni and Aunt Jackie took him to see the Cookie Monster. He decided that night that he wanted to sleep with his Cookie Monster stuffed pillow in his big boy bed. It actually has went much smoother than I thought it would. He seems to understand that he can't get out of his bed without Mommy or Daddy getting him. He has tested it a couple of times, one of which I accidentally whacked him with the door. Oops! It has now been a little over a week and he has grown to love his big boy room. He didn't seem to even miss his old room until Grammie Janice put all of Jaya's bedding in the crib. That day when he walked by his old room he did a double take and asked, "Grammie what happened to my bed?" She explained it was going to be Jaya's room and now when you ask him who's room that is he simply says Jaya.
